Easy Strawberry Cake Recipe.
Apr 28th, 2009 | By Judy | Category: Food
Last Saturday my husband and I went to a crawfish boil with many friends. After we ate 5 sacks of boiled crawfish, the hostess’ sister-in-law brought this divine Strawberry Cake. All 40 of the folks at the party thought this was made from a bakery.
I’m going to share this recipe with you. Thanks to Karen.
Strawberry Cake Ingredients:
- 1 box Duncan Hines White Cake Mix
- 1 (8 oz) Philly Cream Cheese
- 1 box Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 c Sour Cream
- 1 Large Cool Whip
- 2 Pints Strawberries (sliced)
Directions:
- Bake Duncan Hines cake as per instructions on the box in 3 round cake pans.
- Roll sliced strawberries in sugar (granulated) and put on top of icing on first layer (very thick on the first layer).
- Mix (medium speed) cream cheese, sour cream, cool whip, and powdered sugar
- Repeat for 2nd layer
- Repeat for 3rd layer.
Optional: Add strawberries on top layer for pretty effect (saving larger strawberries to garnish around the cake and on top).
