When the word “fusion” is used in a musical context, thoughts of Jazz generally pop in to peoples heads. Musics have been fused time and time again, sometimes in very generic ways. Sometimes, however, people like Jimi Hendrix step in and create a whole new side by fusing one style of music with another. His contribution was the fusion of Rock and Jazz.

Wayne Toups is another musical fusionist of sorts. Cleverly blending traditional cajun french music with Zydeco, a black creole music, he has created a new genre, just like Jimi Hendrix did in the 60’s.
